Ro-Ro Services
The term RO-RO service stands for Roll-On / Roll-Off and relates to those ships and freight carriers that can bear the load of boats on their trailers. These ships are specially designed with built-in ramps and entry/exit doors that allow the boats to be rolled onto the deck of the ship. This cargo is then transported domestically or internationally to its destination, where it is once more rolled off the ship onto the destination port.
Due to competitive rates, this is considered one of the most popular yacht and boat transport methods and it also has received our greatest efforts and that we pride ourselves on the acquired expertise capable of handling any project. In RO-RO method boats that are oversized usually are loaded on special flatbeds. Customized cradles and shrink wrapping protection are usually advised for boat protection during travels.
Containerized Boat Shipping
The most economical method of boat transportation is also very reliable and secure. In this shipping technique the boat is loaded inside the container on it’s side after being tilted and specially strapped.
This option gives a great cost optimization for the shipper being possible load multiple boats on trailers inside the same container. Normally we use the 40’ high cubed container for the procedures and additional tasks are required for the security of the boat. All fuel, oils, water are drained out, and some parts are dismounted for better fitting and safety (Windshields, tops, antennas, radars).
Lo-Lo Services
The term LO-LO service stands for Lift-On / Lift-Off, this transporting method overseas is better suited for larger yachts, power boats or larger watercraft and vessels.
Lift-on, Lift-off services are commonly used in cases that the yacht sizing and height are restricted and unable to fit inside the hull of vessels.
This featured shipping method is more complex although it’s considered eco-friendly as vehicles don’t have to be driven onto the transporting vessel.
The use dependency of the on-board cranes which basically load and off-load yachts onto the vessel, makes the loading procedure is slower than compared to RO-RO.
